Our proudest moment - Winning Sāmoa's first triathlon medal, and only triathlon medal at any Games to date at the 2019 Pacific Games held in Apia, claiming the bronze medal in the teams' event. The winning team of Darren Young, Sosefina So'oa'emalelagi, Teofilo Molio'o - of the three, only Darren was a triathlete six months out from the games. Coach Daniel Afoa recruited So'oa'emalelagi, Molio'o and Joseph Kupa to try out for triathlon in February 2019 for the games in July. Winning Sāmoa's first triathlon medal remains the highlight of the Federation.

In Dec 2022, three of Sāmoa's top triathletes competed in the Oceania Triathlon Championship which was held in Nadi. Urlin Mulitalo, Gideon Mulitalo and Jett Curteis competed in Aquathlon (Swim/Run) and Super Sprint Triathlon events. Jett emerged the overall champion in both events - a first for Sāmoa. Jett was a late replacement to cover for athletes that couldn't travel. Nadi was his first triathlon event since aged 12 years. 

We are proud to have established the sport of triathlon in the country. There were triathlon events held in the country in the past. In 2013, Samoa Events held its first tri-series, this continued for four years. Under the encouragement of Oceania Triathlon, the Samoa Triathlon Federation was set up in 2014 and served as the national body of the sport for nine years. We are proud to have served the sport in that period and wish the new federation well for the future. 

 In December 2018, the Pacific Islands Triathlon Championship (P.I.T.C.) took place in Apia, co-hosted by the Sāmoa Triathlon Federation and Sāmoa Events. This event saw the participation of nations such as American Sāmoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, and Sāmoa. Additionally, the Oceania Congress was held at the same time as well as the Oceania triathlon training camp with coach Ben Gathercole.

 In July 2019, hosted the Triathlon events of the XVI Pacific Games that were held in Apia. The event was attended by the full complement of Oceania members including New Caledonia, Tahiti, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Tonga, American Sāmoa, Tonga and Sāmoa. Triathlon would win the only triathlon medal achieved at any games.
